How to Create a Simple Business Budget
A budget you will actually maintain has about a dozen lines, not a hundred.
A useful budget answers one question: will there be money left at the end of the month?\n\nList your expected income. Then list fixed costs (rent, software, insurance) and variable costs (materials, contractors, advertising). Subtract. If the result is thin, decide in advance which variable costs you would cut.\n\nReview it monthly against what actually happened. The gap between planned and actual is where the useful information lives.
